WARNING: The following article contains sexually explicit content.
At least 14 Fort Worth ISD campus libraries have a copy of an obscene, pornographic and potentially illegally-placed book, Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out. Four of the campuses are middle schools: Benbrook Middle School, J. Martin Jacquet Middle School, Riverside Middle School, and Wedgwood Middle School.
The book contains explicit language, violent acts, and graphic descriptions of oral sex carried out by children as young as 6 years-old.
On page 80, “From six up, I used to kiss other guys in my neighborhood, make out with them, and perform oral sex on them. I liked it. I used to love oral. And I touched their you-know-whats. We were really young but that’s what we did.” The story goes on to describe pedophiles masturbating.
The author does not mention that these acts were illegal or harmful. In fact, the author’s writing does the opposite – creating the impression that these activities should be celebrated.
Beyond Magenta is written mostly in first-person to present the stories of six different children. By doing so the author may pretend to take cover in the telling of another’s story. But undoubtedly, the book is written to persuade, affirm, and indoctrinate.
A year ago Stand for Fort Worth reported that Fort Worth ISD libraries were exposing 86,000 kids – some as young as kindergarten – to transgender sex-ed content without parental notice or consent. Fort Worth ISD has had a year to remove these books from taxpayer-funded library shelves. But no action has been taken.
Transgender sex-ed content in Fort Worth ISD libraries appears to violate Texas law. We call on Superintendent Kent Scribner and the Fort Worth ISD Board to immediately remove books that peddle pedophilia and any other content that exposes thousands of Fort Worth children to sexually explicit material.

A recent look at Chair Bonilla’s social media posts reveals that she donated to Planned Parenthood, posted numerous expressions of support for polarizing partisan politicians, and insulted the Mayor and four City Councilmen by saying they had “failed their residents” for supporting a Texas law. Ironically, the Mayor and Council are the very people who voted to approve her to the Human Relations Commission.
Chair Bonilla’s support of Planned Parenthood is troubling.
Chair Bonilla insults the elected officials who appointed her.
The Human Relations Commission exists “(a) To advise and consult with the City Council and the City Manager on matters involving racial, religious, or ethnic discrimination; (b) to recommend to the City Council and the City Manager measures designed to eliminate prejudice and discrimination; and (c) to promote and encourage communications between and cooperation of all groups interested in bettering community relations.” Members are considered to be officers of the City of Fort Worth.
These social media posts are not mere words by Chair Bonilla; they are evidence of her support for causes that are divisive and partisan.
Planned Parenthood stops human relations and discriminates against preborn Fort Worth residents. Chair Bonilla’s donations to Planned Parenthood discourage communication, thwart cooperation, and have a dangerous chilling effect on those in our community, including religious individuals and groups, who are working to stop discrimination against preborn Fort Worth residents. Moreover, Chair Bonilla’s contributions create a conflict of interest in violation of the City’s conflicts policy because her ability to remain impartial on issues regarding discrimination has been called into question.
At least one of her fellow Commissioners on the Human Relations Commission previously filed a formal complaint on June 4, 2019, with the Mayor and Councilman Dennis Shingleton for Chair Bonilla’s divisive actions in meetings. Commissioner Mike Steele wrote:
“The politically charged comments made last night by Chairperson Eva Bonilla are unacceptable. It is extremely disappointing that she…does not harbor the discipline to keep her personal feelings from becoming a focal point. This is not the first time she has made politically charged statements in an HRC meeting…By her continuously making said politically charged statements, Chair Bonilla proves she has not the ability to ensure consensus driven decision making which is paramount for her position. It is my belief, she cannot adhere to Chapter 17-18 Powers and Duties, (c), and must be removed from the HRC immediately.”
Chair Bonilla’s financial support of Planned Parenthood as well as her other divisive social media posts and actions disqualify her from service on the Human Relations Commission. The Mayor and City Council have the authority to remove a member of the Human Relations Commission. Help us tell them to remove Chair Bonilla by signing the petition and emailing their offices.
