Fort Worth Taxpayer Resources Used to Target Teens for LGBT Agenda

Did you know the City of Fort Worth is using taxpayer resources to target 13 year-olds for inclusion in the LGBT movement? The City of Fort Worth Human Relations Commission (HRC) recently met and approved meeting minutes from an August 4, 2016 meeting that state the following:

Approve HRC Tarrant County Gay Pride Parade Activities

Ms. Villegas briefed the HRC on participating in an event targeting the LGBT youth community.  The HRC would be a sponsor of an activity at the event and would distribute information about the HRC and the City’s diversity inclusion efforts.  The free event will be on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Celebration Church.  The event will target teenagers from 13 to 18 years of age.  Commissioner John Luft motioned to participate in the Teen Pride Celebration.  Commissioner Arturo Martinez seconded.  The motion carried 7 – for, 0 – opposed and 0 – abstentions.

The Teen Pride event was part of the Tarrant County Gay Pride Week activities.  Other sponsors of the event included Trans-Cendence International and LGBTQ S.A.V.E.S.  Trans-Cendence International sent activists from Dallas to lobby for Fort Worth ISD’s illegal transgender policy this past summer.  Sharon Herrera, the founder and President of LGBTQ S.A.V.E.S, is a Commissioner on the City’s Human Relations Commission.  Why is the City partnering with organizations that supported the Fort Worth ISD’s illegal transgender policy?

As noted last Thursday, the Human Relations Commission is a commission appointed by the Fort Worth City Council.  It acts with the authority and support of the taxpayer-funded City government.  In fact, the website for the Human Relations Commission states, “Members are considered to be officers of the City of Fort Worth.

The HRC is supported by a number of taxpayer-funded City employees in the Human Relations Unit (HRU).  One of the taxpayer-funded employees, Veronica Villegas, spoke at numerous Fort Worth ISD Board meetings this summer in favor of the illegal transgender policy.  It is unclear whether she was speaking in her capacity as a taxpayer-funded employee.

This information raises a few questions:

  1. Why are City taxpayer dollars being spent to target 13-18 year olds for the LGBT agenda?
  2. Are taxpayer dollars spent to target teens to attend the local Baptist church?
  3. How does the City decide which viewpoints it will support with taxpayer dollars?
